Goodwill Recycling Program Facts

• In fiscal year 2009, Goodwill recycled a total of 3.8 million lbs formerly destined for the landfill.
   
• We served a total of 188 individuals with barriers to employment through our recycling center transitional work program.

• 75% of everything that comes through the recycling center is recycled! These consist of many materials that most recycling companies would not be able to accept!

• 65% of the Goodwill recycling workforce is comprised of individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employement.

• Goodwill partners in electronics recycling through the Dell Reconnect Program and has helped Michigan keep over 3 million lbs of computer electronics out of landfills YTD.

• In 2009, Goodwill has reduced overall waste consumption by more than 10% compared to previous years.
